Italian wool and hemp sweater – production details, threads, fabrics

Sweater made with Tuscan hemp yarn and virgin wool from sheep raised in Puglia. The hemp fiber has been macerated with an anaerobic process. The woven drop stitch is obtained with floating threads on a flat edge base 4.2. The experimental shirt is slightly perforated and warm and rough to the touch.

The sweater features a deep V-neck, highlighted by the 4.2 rib border. The fit is very relaxed at the waist, where there is no stretch. The design has a slightly flared shape. It is a unisex and seasonless wool and hemp garment.

Wool and hemp sweater: the color of macerated hemp

The color of hemp macerated with an anaerobic process takes on a darker shade, going from the ocher of straw to the mud of the agricultural field. This hemp and wool pullover is also available in two color variants: anthracite gray and mud green. Working on a predominant natural pigment, the color shades are unpredictable and always different.

Prototipo Studio is a plastic-free brand. Elastic synthetic fibers are not foreseen, as is the use of elastane or nylon: materials that are usual in standardized knitwear production.
