Vicenza Hemp
A journey lasting more than a year.
We started from the land of Vicenza, observing a simple seed germinate, until we arrived at the tailoring laboratory where our garments come to life. A journey that can be summarized in just two minutes of video, yet the emotions it contains are indescribable.
It all begins with the sowing of Carmagnola hemp. After about three months, what was a small seed turns into a lush plant, three or four meters tall, with a golden green color that makes it unmistakable. Once harvested, the plant is worked until it becomes a long and resistant fiber, similar to a horse's mane. At this point, the fiber is ready to be taken to the artisanal spinning laboratory, La Natura Filati, where expert hands and human ingenuity come together. Fiber after fiber, they are twisted together, creating a single thread. This process reminds me a bit of the Japanese story of the red thread of destiny, which ties people and lives together.
Our red thread continues its journey at Tessitura Colombina, where it intertwines with other threads, passing through wooden looms dating back to the mid-1800s. Here, fabrics rich in history, craftsmanship and sustainability are born, as if they were destined to meet from the beginning.
Finally, the fabric comes to life. It is transformed into a pair of jeans that embodies all these souls: respect for nature, craftsmanship, and a deep commitment to sustainability. Each piece carries with it the trace of this journey and the values that inspired it.
