Would you believe it if I told you that Garibaldi wore hemp blue jeans?
That's right, the oldest hemp jeans in the world are in fact those worn by Giuseppe Garibaldi: they are 152 years old and are preserved at the Central Museum of the Risorgimento in Rome, displayed in a special showcase in the Vittoriano.
In Genoa canvas and ankle-length, with those trousers worn under the red shirt Garibaldi landed in Marsala and the war in Sicily, in May 1860. They have a particular sign: a patch on the left knee, also in jeans , which covers a tear.
To remember this incredible leader, who started from nothing, to lead one of the most important Italian revolutions, Gimmi has created the "Garibaldi" jeans model, with a tone-on-tone band on the side, with a more contemporary style, to bring back the famous red band present in Garibaldini's jeans.
